What is a Buying Club?
A Honored Prairie Buying Club is simply a location where customers meet us to pickup their orders. Each of our clubs are organized by a volunteer who helps organize and facilitate order pickups. Most of our pickups take a place in permitted business parking lots, churches and home driveways. There is no membership process or fees involved with being a part of a club - you simply need to place an order and show up on your schedule pickup day.
Our buying clubs are about neighbors
helping neighbors find and access nutritious sustainably produced foods!
How do I place an order?
Your ordering experience begins by browsing our online store and adding items to your shopping cart. Once you're ready to checkout, you will need to create an account with us and provide us with your basic contact information. During checkout you will be aked to choose from a list of our buying club pickup locations and dates for your order pickup. You may also choose to have your order shipped UPS.

How do I pickup an order?
(Applies to buying club pickup)
After placing your order you will want to be sure to mark your calendars of your exact pickup date and time of day. You will also need to begin planning your schedule and make the necassary arrangements to be at your pickup on time.
You will not need to bring a cooler unless you are traveling more from more than an hour away. All meat products come frozen and packaged in boxes and bags for convenient transport.

Is there a delivery fee?
To help defray our fuel and vehicle costs, there is a delivery fee added to each order that is calculated based on the weight of your order - the larger your order the less pay per pound for delivery!

How is my order packaged?
(For Pickup at Buying Club or Farm)
All meat items comes individually packaged and froze. Your items will always be packed in boxes or bags for you convenience. You will not need to bring coolers unless it will be more than 45 min to an hour before you get your order in the freezer.
(For UPS Shipping)
Orders to be shipped UPS are packaged in well insulated styrofoam containers. Ice packs or dry ice may be included deppending upon time of year and time in transit.
What are the order deadlines?
We don't have an official order deadline because our availability is always changing. It is always best to place your order at least 1-2 weeks prior to your preferred pickup date. If you interested in ordering custom cut freezer meat packages then it is best to place your order 4 to 5 weeks in advance.

I placed my order
but did not receive an e-mail receipt, what's wrong?
Either you did not complete your order properly or your spam filter is blocking our e-mail receipt. If this is not the case, please contact us to be sure we've received your order!
Can I send a friend to pickup my order?
Yes, however, payment will still need to be made at pickup or else you can arrange for payment with us before your pickup date.
Can the club leader receive my order?
This is strongly discouraged because of the extra burden that it adds for our Club Leaders.
What if I need to cancel my order?
(For Pickup at Buying Club or Farm)
10% of your total estimated order will be due on ALL orders that are not picked up on time or canceled within less than 2 weeks of your scheduled pickup date. If you choose NOT to pay our 10% cancelation fee then we will not be able to accept any further orders from you.
Tip! Be sure to mark your calendars for your order pickup date and precise time of day! If you show up late, our delivery truck will already be headed to the next stop :(

Monday thru Wednesday. Please call no later than 8AM Monday to cancel your order.

Are your farms "Certified" organic?
Although not required by Honored Prairie some of our farmers do operate under organic certification. It is important to remember that organic certification does not require 100% grass-fed diets for ruminant grazing animals such as cattle & sheep.

Are the cattle or other ruminant animals finished with or fed grain at anytime?
NO! Keep in mind that the USDA's "Certified" Organic Standards allow for ruminant animals to be fed well over 50% grain.
What do the cattle eat in the winter?
The same diet they eat during the growing season. Our cattle and other ruminant animals are fed harvested portions of their pastures in the form of stored hay or haylage.
Where are the animals harvested? Is it humane?
At Honored Prairie we believe that all created life is to be respected in accordance to our Maker's plan and purpose.
It is our goal to see to it that all of our animals are harvested with the least amount of stress and trauma. Whenever possible, we choose to patronize small, local and family owned abattoirs who share in our values and philosophies.
How long will meat last in my freezer?
Our frozen meat products can be easily store in the freezer for at least a year.
How long can your eggs be store in the refrigerator?
Our eggs can be easily stored in the refrigerator for as long as 8 weeks or more! How is this possible? Our eggs are fresh from the farm and we do our best to get them to you within a few days to a couple weeks of being laid The eggs you purchase in the store can be over a month and a half old before you put them your refrigerator!
Is raw milk cheese and other raw dairy products safe?
Any food can harbor bad bacteria and make a person sick. Milk from a healthy animal that is allowed access to fresh pasture, fresh water and clean living quarters, will not have the bacteria from the various illnesses caused most often in confinement dairies.
Do you sell RAW milk?
Not at this time.
The USDA and many State Health Departments have made it illegal for your to buy RAW milk from farmers. In fact the USDA recently made the outrageous statement that "There is no absolute right to consume or feed children any particular food."
